Terms & Conditions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or business purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the App.

Viscan is a barcode and QR code scanning application. Features include:

All scan data is stored locally on your device. The App does not upload your data to any server.

The App offers a free tier with core scanning functionality and a premium subscription ("Viscan Premium") that unlocks additional features including Stock Check, CSV/TXT Export, Image-Based Scanning, Custom Audio, Advanced Filters, and Unlimited History. 

3.1 Subscription Plans

Premium subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis. Both plans include a 3-day free trial. Pricing is displayed in the App and may vary by region.

3.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the then-current rate.

3.3 Cancellation

You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through:

• The App's settings (Manage Subscription)
• Your Apple ID subscription settings (iOS)
• Google Play subscriptions settings (Android)

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.

3.4 Free Trial

The 3-day free trial begins when you subscribe. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged. Each user is eligible for one free trial per subscription plan.

3.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will notify you of any price changes in advance. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Scan barcodes or QR codes that you do not have permission to scan
• Use the App to infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to bypass or circumvent any subscription or feature restrictions
• Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its name, logo, design, code, and all related assets, is our exclusive intellectual property. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names are proprietary to us or their respective owners.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services including:

• RevenueCat — subscription management and payment processing
• Google ML Kit — on-device barcode detection

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Barcode or QR code scanning will be 100% accurate
• Any defects or errors will be corrected

Barcode scanning accuracy depends on device camera quality, lighting conditions, and barcode condition. Always verify critical scanned data independently.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email where possible.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
